Hypothermia Alert

This is an important message from the District of Columbia AlertDC system.

DHS reports the Hypothermia Alert will remain on. According to National Weather Service, the current temperature is 31 degrees with a wind chill of 24 degrees.

Today’s forecast: A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 45. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest 11 to 16 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tonight’s forecast: A chance of rain and snow showers before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 21. Blustery, with a west wind 13 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Hypothermia season has begun. When the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is 32 degrees or below, the District issues a Hypothermia Alert.
