Snow or no snow, the Shepherd Park Citizens Association meeting is ON for Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. inside the auditorium of Shepherd Elementary, 14th & Jonquil; use the auditorium entrance.
This is our "Faith Night" program, with confirmed participation from six of the nine pastors of our neighborhood houses of worship. Each will have about five minutes to talk about their congregation’s history and ministry. Give them all a warm welcome. If a Shepherd Park ministerial association starts up due to Faith Night, so much the better!
Because this Tuesday is also "Fat Tuesday," we’ll have a free Mardi Gras necklace to the first 40 folks in attendance. When it comes to "fat," we’ll bring in some Ledo Pizza, — cheese, pepperoni and goodness knows what else. But there’s only 4 or 5 grams of fat in each square of Ledo Pizza, so you’re going to have to eat multiple slices!
During the meeting, we’ll also present the revised bylaws for final approval (look for a separate email with them soon), introduce a revised set of Articles of Incorporation to be voted on at the SPCA’s May meeting, hear from a new mentoring program in the District, and a representative from D.C. Fire/EMS about a new policy regarding ambulance calls. All this, plus the ever-developing world of development on the periphery of Shepherd Park.
We’ll also have some of our new SPCA polo shirts, T-shirts and sweatshirts for sale, and you’ll be able to avoid the long lines at last week’s potluck and sign up or rejoin the SPCA as well.
See you Tuesday!
