Hypothermia Alert

This is an important message from the District of Columbia AlertDC system.

DHS reports the Hypothermia Alert will remain activated. According to National Weather Service the current temperature is 36 degrees with a chill of 32 degrees. Today’s Forecast: Snow before noon, then rain and snow showers between noon and 3pm, then rain showers likely after 3pm. High near 39. Northeast wind around 7 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Tonight’s Forecast: A chance of rain and snow showers before 9pm, then a chance of snow showers between 9pm and 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Hypothermia season has begun. When the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is 32 degrees or below, the District issues a Hypothermia Alert.
