Iona’s Take Charge/Age Well Academy – for baby boomers

Take Charge of your Aging 101 series

Wednesdays, April 13 through June 1

3.30pm – 5.30pm

$130 for the entire series (scholarships are available)

Participants will learn how to navigate the opportunities and challenges of aging through presentations by Iona’s aging-in-place specialists and trusted partners. The specialists offer expert advice, wellness coaching, guidance on critical decision‐making, and planning for the future. A brief outline of the series is below:

· Aging Successfully through Brain Health and Emotional Wellness
Facilitated by Bill Amt,LICSW licensed clinical social worker at Iona

· Financial Planning for Long-Term Care Needs
Facilitated by Rick Gow, Certified Senior Advisor and Wealth Management Advisor with Lara, May & Associates

· Navigating Health Insurance: Medicare, Medicaid, and More
Facilitated by Alexis Cole, Staff Attorney, GWU Health Insurance Counseling Project

· Legal Documents You Need Now!
Facilitated by Jennifer Berger, supervisory Legal Aid Attorney, Alternatives Project of AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly

· Aging in Place, Housing, and Long-Term Care Options
Facilitated by Carol Kaplun, RN BSN, Nurse Care Manager at Iona

· Put Your Skills to Good Use: Finding Engaging Volunteer Opportunities
Facilitated by Lylie Fisher,BFA, MA Social Sciences, and Advanced Graduate Certificate in Transformational Coaching

· Your Take Charge/Age Well Toolkit: Personal Social Portfolio & Designing Your Life
Facilitated by Deborah Rubenstein, Director of Care Management, Consultation, and Counseling at Iona.
