Brightwood_DC Short Term Housing Design Meeting

Dear Neighbors,

Last fall, the Council of the District of Columbia took a bold step forward when they voted to close DC General, the District’s largest family shelter for families experiencing homelessness. The Council stood with Mayor Bowser and thousands of residents from all 8 wards to support the District’s plan to replace DC General with small, safe and dignified short-term housing facilities in each ward.

Last month, we hosted community meetings in all eight wards to discuss the short-term housing facilities in each ward and provided an update on the District’s plan to end homelessness in our city. As committed, we are ready to share with residents concept designs for the Short-Term Family Housing sites and to solicit your feedback on the exterior of the building and other exterior options.

Will you join us? RSVP for the community meeting in ward 4 @https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ward-4-short-term-family-housing-design-overview-meeting-tickets-24297825450

If you need a reasonable accommodation, or an interpreter, please call dmhhs at least two business days in advance of the meeting in your ward. We look forward to hearing from you and continuing the conversation.

Ward 4 design meeting will be held:

When: April 4, 2016

Where: Hattie Holmes, 324 Kennedy St. NW

Time: 6:30pm

We want to hear from you! We want your feedback!
