Homicide: 600 block of Kennedy Street, Northwest
Second Victim Succumbs to His Injuries
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Kennedy Street, Northwest on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
At approximately 2:15 am, members of the Fourth District responded to a call for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located two males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life for the first victim. The first decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Saul Flores, of Northeast, DC. The second victim was transported to MEDSTAR and pronounced dead on Sunday, October 16, 2016.
The second decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Ever Cruz, of Northwest, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
