Hypothermia Alert Status

This is an important message from the District of Columbia AlertDC system.

DHS reports that the Hypothermia Alert will remain on. According to NWS, the current temperature is 32 degrees with a wind chill of 22 degrees and dry conditions. Today, Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 50. South wind 6 to 11 mph becoming southwest 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Tonight, Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. West wind 6 to 9 mph.

Hypothermia season has begun. When the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is 32 degrees or below, the District issues a Hypothermia Alert. To request shelter transport for DC residents who are homeless and on the street now, contact the Shelter Hotline (202) 399-7093, or 311.
