In the same vein, I just wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming DC Love March (Saturday March 11th) which seeks to promote diversity and inclusion in our communities by marching not downtown but straight through some of the most diverse communities in our city- down Georgia Avenue from the Emery Rec Center on Madison St. NW down to U Street. The message is "Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, we stand together as neighbors." It will be a great day of solidarity and include great artists, entertainers and speakers.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help with the march both in planning and the day of. Please sign up to volunteer here. If you can’t volunteer, but want to chip in, you can do so here. We also have a planning meeting on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Ten Tigers Parlour in Petworth. Please join us!

Ever since Petworth News sold the “No matter where you are from, we’re glad you’re our neighbor” signs in December, we’ve been inundated for requests for more signs. Getting the signs into people’s hands can be a difficult task — so a friend and I created a new company to create progressive message yard signs: Stand Up! Signs.
Right now we’re selling four signs, including the "Glad you’re our neighbor" sign, and will be selling more signs over time. We’re donating 10% of the proceeds to civil rights organizations.
We invite you to check out the new site and share it with others who might be interested!
