Mapping Segregation in DC

This Thursday, April 28th at 7pm

"Mapping Segregation in Washington D.C." is a public history project from Prologue DC documenting the historic segregation of our city’s housing, schools, playgrounds, and other public spaces. In 2015, Prologue DC launched the project’s first installment, on legal challenges to racially restricted housing. Learn about the project’s recent work on the history of the Military Road School and its community, and on the replacement of other historic black enclaves in Ward 4 with whites-only neighborhoods.

Lawyers in the Library: Wills and Advanced Directives for Older Americans

Wednesday, May 10 at 1pm

Ask a lawyer from Neighborhood Legal Services Program your questions about: Requirements for a will in D.C., land in another state, gifts to minor children, providing for pets, charitable donations, power of attorney and living wills, interstate succession, spousal inheritances.

Baby Lap Time (With Miss Brittany), Every Monday at 1:30pm

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Brittany to our team at Shepherd Park! An experienced baby lap time presenter, she brings with her a dynamic personality, you and your babies are sure to love!

A story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minutes story times introduce books, songs, rhymes, tickles and bounces developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to when they start walking.

Baby/Toddler Story Time (With Miss Elaine), Every Wednesday at 10am,

These 20-30 minute story times are full of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for children birth to two years old. Our Baby and Toddler Story Time is a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment.

Family Story Time, Every Saturday at 11am

Story time fun for entire family, these 30-40 minutes story times are packed full of books and activities designed to be enjoyed by all ages.
