See Walter Reed “Grocery” Design

Want to see what the Walter Reed "grocery store" building could look like? (the one that was to be a Wegman’s) It’s being designed right now, with community input.

Come to ANC 4B’s Community Design Review Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 3, 6:30 pm, Shepherd Park Public Library, 7420 Georgia Avenue, NW. Ask questions and share your views.

This is Walter Reed’s largest retail site, to be built near Georgia and Fern, where the big concrete hospital now sits. Key elements, including height, exterior design, and vehicle entrances and exits, are under discussion.

ASAP, we’ll post drawings on ANC4B.org If you can’t come, please comment on this website and/or write to andre.carley@ gmail.com and saragreendc @ yahoo.com (take out spaces for correct email addresses)

DC’s Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) must approve the building and can make major changes to the proposal. ANC 4B’s Design Committee works with ANC 4B’s Commissioners on recommendations to HPRB.
