This evening, at 7 p.m., we’ll have our Shepherd Park Citizens Association community meeting.
Our primary feature is the history of Neighbors Inc., which was conceived and grew up in Shepherd Park and is still going great guns today. We’ll hear from present and past leaders in the effort to help make Shepherd Park the kind of place we cherish today.
We’ll also have our nominations and elections for SPCA board members for 2017-18: president, VP, treasurer, recording secretary, membership secretary, three at-large members, three delegates to the D.C. Federation of Citizens Associations, and three delegates to the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations. We’re still looking for a treasurer candidate. Might that person be you? If so, let me know off-list.
Many SPCA activities are coming up this month and next, and we should have updates on Saturday’s Georgia Avenue Plant-In, the May 21 Garden tour, and the June 25 picnic, plus updates on development (were YOU at the "Parks of Walter Reed" groundbreaking last month, or last night’s Citizens Advisory Council meeting?).
One constant at our meetings is Ledo Pizza. Come hungry, leave happy!
