Totally agree. She is 18 years old and lives away at university. She won’t know everything about the world yet, and she will probably make mistakes in her life.
It is up to her to make those mistakes. You can’t control a legal adult who has moved out, but you can voice your opinion and tell her what you think so that she can go ahead and make her own choices. Forcing a change of university is just ridiculous – if you want to lose your daughter forever, that sort of manipulation and control is how you go about it.
The girl still seems ambitious with her studies, so why cut off her funding and try to alter where she is studying? I’ll say it again – she’s 18, moved out and had a right to make stupid mistakes and her own choices. In all likelihood, this relationship will run its course pretty quickly.
