The National Conservatory of Arts cordially invites you to An Afternoon of Strings!
We are having our 1st annual String Department Open House and Musical Petting Zoo, where children and adults can experience a sample of the excellent music instruction that you will receive when you enroll in our outstanding string program.
We have many violins, violas, cellos, and string basses of all sizes for everyone to try out.
Our Strings faculty will also perform some of their favorite teaching pieces for children and adult students, as well as their professional performance pieces.
You will also be introduced to:
-Our highly esteemed and well-seasoned strings faculty: Dr. Lisa Walker (String Department Chairperson), Marta Taddesse, M. Mus., and Timothy Lacrosse M. Mus.
-Our Suzuki Strings Program and Traditional Strings Program
-Our Children’s Chamber Orchestra Program
-Our Adult Strings Music Lesson Program
-Our Adult Chamber Ensemble Class
-Our Capital City Music Project
Music Based Full Week After School Program
We are also rolling out our biggest endeavor yet, The Capital City Music Project. The Capital City Music Project is a music based after school program located at the junction of Adams Morgan and Logan’s Circle. The Capital City Music Project teaches 2nd thru 8th graders piano, violin, viola, cello, string bass, vocal lessons, and classes 5 days a week. 1st graders are accepted into CCMP only after an assessment of their focus is made. Pickups are made from many DC Schools. And academic tutoring, homework assistance, and a healthy snack are also included. Students are automatically registered for our No-School Camp Days for a nominal fee of $35 per day. Instrument rentals are also available Weekly Tuition is $75
This event is at our new NW branch at 1810 16th Street NW, 3rd Floor, Washington DC 20009 and the event runs from 1 pm – 3 pm.
