Takoma Park Farmers Market Pie Contest is this Sunday, September 17th

Join us this Sunday, September 17th for the Takoma Park Farmers Market Pie Contest!

How to Participate –

Pie Bakers:
Enter your best 1 or 2 crust pie using seasonal ingredients – sweet or savory! Pies will be judged and prizes will be awarded. Awards will be offered in the following categories: Best Apple Pie
Best Peach Pie
Best Other Pie
Best Kid’s Pie
Most Unusual Pie
Yummy Mess Award

Pie Eaters:

At the conclusion of the judging, all pies will sliced and offered to the public for a $3 donation per slice. All donations received will go to the Takoma Park Farmers Market SNAP (food stamp) Match Program. Taste one or many!

Judges:
This year’s judges include Mayor Kate Stewart, Councilmember Peter Kovar, Councilmember Tim Male, Danny Wells- Chef and Partner at Republic, Marcello Mina – Owner of Trattoria Da Lina, and Takoma Park Police Captain, Tyrone Collington.

Pie Delivery: 11:00am-11:30amJudging: 11:30am-1:00pm
Pie Slice Tickets For Sale: starting at 12:30pm
Winners Announced: 1:00pm
Pie Slices Available: 1:00pm
